Fun at the Beach

Now who doesn't love to be naked on the beach?

A Funny Conversation

Adrie asked me if I could help her put on her sock this morning. I was sitting on the couch, nursing Andy, so I said, "I can't help you right now, because my hands are full." She was quiet for a few seconds, then asked me, "Are your hands full of milk?" Then she said to me, "Mommy, my hands are just full of air."

Tooth #2

Andy's second tooth came in this past weekend while we were camping. I'll have new pictures from our camping trip soon!

We've got a first tooth!

One of Andy's bottom teeth popped through this morning; just barely. He's been chewing on his hands like crazy for the past several weeks so we figured they were coming. I can see that the one next to it isn't far behind. As Marshall said, "we've got ourselves a nipple-biter."

Mommy's Good Idea

So my idea was . . . to give Adrie a big bin of rice to play in outside on our porch. Some friends of our have a big "rice table" on their covered deck that Adrie really enjoyed playing in. Nice try Mommy. The first moment I turned my back, several scoops of rice were added to my potted plants that sit nearby, not to mention the front porch and walkway being generously sprinkled. I lost count of how many times I said, "Lets try to keep the rice inside the bin," just to hear her say, "ok," then turn around and sprinkle it on the bench, sort of into one of her cups or pans. Oh well . . . it did keep her occupied for quite a while!

My Roses

These roses from our yard smell so wonderful. I like to pick and enjoy them, because they only last for about a day.

4 Months

Adrie and Andy,
both at 4 months.
I think his eyes will turn brown, just like hers did.

Adrie Today

Adrie was WIDE awake this morning at 5:30 . . . who knows why. I could hear her talking, singing, and occasionally shouting, while she was waiting for someone to come and get her out of her crib. When I finally went into her room about 7:30, (because I couldn't sleep through her calling my name anymore) she informed me right away, "I ate all my tic-tacs!" (about 4 times in succession)

Sure enough, she had managed to somehow get the "Mega" box of tic-tacs, which I had put in her Christmas stocking, off of her dresser and into her bed. When Marshall asked her how she got them, she replied, "I just put my foot up here, and my tummy up here, and got them." She was referring to the top edges of her crib sides.

I guess the crib will have to go . . . we're lucky she didn't fall out onto her head.

A Sprinkly Morning at the Beach

Of course, I forgot my camera, which I had all ready to take to the beach with us, so my cell phone camera had to do.

Helping Papa in the Yard

This is the outfit that Adrie chose to "work in the yard" in with Marshall the other day.

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.

He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
