Imaginary Friends

Adrie's has some new friends living in her bedroom - her imaginary friends named "The Wellersons." I'm not sure if "they" are plural or singular, since she refers to them sometimes a one person, and sometimes as several. The other day, she came out of her room with her hands on her hips, and announced to me, "Mom, those Wellersons are being disgusting!"

Night Owl

Yesterday afternoon, Adrie had a long nap, probably too late in the afternoon. So last night, she had trouble falling asleep. I went into her room before I went to bed, about 9:30 or so, to find her still wide awake, laying on her back, making a windmill with her arms. I asked her if she was having trouble sleeping. "Yep." So I tucked her back in, and told her I'd come check on her in a while.

I went back in about 10:30, after Marshall and I had watched a TV show on our laptop, and she was STILL awake. But this time she had gotten up out of bed, put her tutu on over her pj's, and had brought several toys into her bed with her. A babydoll bottle, her pink poodle purse, and a plastic Dora cup. When I asked her what she was doing, she replied, "Making ice cream."

The real question is . . . do I stay close, just in case he falls? . . .

Or do I go get my camera?

Adrie's Christmas List

Adrie on the way to church yesterday:
"Mom, do you know what I want for Christmas? (no pause for my response)
A puppy named Ribbie. And some milk and water for my new puppy Ribbie."

(Ribbie is a dog that my Aunt & Uncle have - she's a little "wiener dog")

Overheard

Here's something for you Moms with older girls/younger boys - a funny thing that made me laugh. Adrie was watching me change Andrew's diaper this past week, and said something about his "tinkle." Well, wanting to give her the proper terminology, I told her, "that's his penis, which is his private part." (a concept we have yet to master) So the next day, when we came home from preschool, I overheard Adrie say in her sweetest sisterly tone, "Hey Andrew . . . you little penis."
